If the wood itself is still solid, refinishing is usually the fastest way to make an old floor look new again — often for a fraction of what a full replacement would cost.

Two Levels of Refinishing

  • Buff & coat. For floors where the finish is worn but the wood underneath is fine. We lightly buff the surface and apply a fresh coat — quick, and far less expensive than a full resand.
  • Full sand & refinish. For floors with deeper scratches, sun fading, or old finish that needs to come off completely. We sand down to bare wood, then stain and finish.

On your free phone consult, we'll ask a few questions about the floor's condition and give you an idea of which one it likely needs — we'll confirm for certain at the on-site estimate.

Dust Control

Sanding equipment today captures the vast majority of dust at the source. We take steps to contain what's left so you're not living in a construction site for a week.

Common Questions

How often should floors be refinished? Most hardwood floors can go 7-10 years between refinishes with normal wear, longer with a buff & coat in between.

Do I need to leave the house? Not usually, but you'll want to stay off the floor itself until the finish cures — we'll walk you through the timeline.

Can engineered hardwood be refinished? Sometimes — it depends on the thickness of the top wood veneer. We'll check this during your estimate.
